Compensation Specialist

Next Insurance is experiencing incredible growth and we are looking for an experienced compensation professional to join us to lead the charge to attract and retain the industry’s top talent. Reporting to the Head of People, this role will have the opportunity to build the company’s compensation strategy from the ground-up.

Responsibilities:

Manage the compensation review process

Ensure Next Insurance’s compensation program is competitive to the market by evaluating survey trends, conducting research, and making recommendations

Conduct job analysis by collaborating with HR specialists, recruiting, and hiring managers

Ensure our stock plans and equity grant process are administered

Partner with the people team to resolve compensation related issues

Manage external compensation survey participation

Be a key partner to finance and accounting to determine compensation budget

Be the compensation expert for the company

Oversee the payroll process for the US offices (Palo Alto and Austin), ensuring you are calculating overtime, deductions, etc

Address questions or issues related to payroll

Partner with the finance and accounting team to build necessary reports

Prepare and distribute income statements

Develop and maintain reporting for the People team on key metrics and build ad-hoc reports as needed

Ensure the accuracy and cleanliness for internal people data so we can harness key insights

Be a key partner in identifying opportunities to automate people processes

Desired Skills and Experience:

Bachelors degree in an analytical field of study

3+ years of relevant experience working in compensation at a global, tech company. A plus if you have run payroll processes.

Excellent analytical skills and a passion for data

Expert in Excel and Powerpoint

Excellent communication skills and ability to influence at all levels

Impeccable organizational skills and attention to detail
