Corporate Controller


We are looking for an experienced Corporate Controller who brings strong leadership with the ability to support a fast pace environment. Reporting to the Head of Finance and Accounting, you will manage the company and all subsidiary accounting operations, regulatory and financial reporting, tax filings as well as the development of process and controls. The successful candidate will be a seasoned manager with tremendous integrity, vision, drive, intelligence, and capability. He/she will be highly motivated and have the ability and desire to shape the future of the business.

Responsibilities:

Manage accounting operations including general ledger, consolidation, technical accounting, tax,
cash management and revenue recognition activities

Drive timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes

Oversee all required filing including income tax filings, premium tax filing and insurance statutory
filing.

Manage external auditor relationships to facilitate completion of audit procedures in a timely and
efficient manner

Establish, implement, manage and monitor critical reporting policies, processes and associated
metrics, including statutory and insurance accounting

Serve as one of the Company’s experts on accounting matters, including US Generally Accepted
Accounting Principles and Insurance Statutory Accounting Principles, partnering with other
departments on accounting-related questions and initiatives

Ensure efficiently driving financial reporting minimizing the risk of error and streamlining the
financial reporting process

Lead, motivate and develop talent within the organization including regularly reviewing their
goals, objectives, performance and career advancement

Partner with FP&A team to develop corporate budgets

Partner with legal and compliance to maintain corporate compliance with financial reporting and
legal matters

Desired Skills and Experience:

7-10 years of progressive accounting management experience in a P&C insurance carrier
company, including experience in a Big-4 accounting firm

Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and P&C Insurance Accounting

Experience with P&C insurance statutory filings

Track record of building and developing high-performance accounting teams in a fast-paced
organization

Demonstrated ability to work cross functionally to accomplish complex projects.

Practical, hands-on approach with the ability to lead by example.

Comfortable leading through ambiguity and a champion of change.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or business-related field.

Excellent communication, presentation and organizational skills

CPA required

Self-starter, detail oriented and efficient

Exceptional team leadership skills and ability to develop, engage, and evaluate team member

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
