Corporate In-House Counsel

The In-house Counsel will have responsibility for all legal matters, from compliance and licensing to a variety of contracts, managing relationships with external stakeholders and far more. This is a tremendous opportunity for an attorney with some experience to join an exciting, growing company.


Corporate Matters
Lead review, negotiation and execution of all corporate agreements including confidentiality agreements, partner arrangements, vendor and supplier agreements, etc.
Responsible for providing legal perspective on all corporate matters, including researching items specifically related to the insurance business
Primary relationship manager for all external legal stakeholders (corporate law firm, insurance law firms, etc.)

Insurance Company and Licensing Compliance
Responsible for implementing, monitoring and enforcing a compliance system to keep the company in good standing with operational practice, licensing needs and all other regulatory authority requirements (filings, etc.)

Desired Skills and Experience:

Prior experience at a large law firm in the corporate division and prior startup experience as corporate counsel
Experience with general corporate legal matters: reviewing and negotiating contracts, partnership agreements, supplier/vendor agreements
Experience documenting corporate financial transactions (e.g., financing / lending agreements, partner agreements, etc.)
Experience devising / building / leading a compliance practice within a startup organization a plus.
Experience in a highly regulated industry (and experience working with various regulation authorities) a plus
