Finance Compliance and regulation Data Engineer


We're looking for a Finance, Compliance, and Regulation Data Engineer to join our dynamic and highly results-oriented BI/Data team. The right person will work closely with the CFO’s office and with technology teams and will be part of the development, maintenance, and technology aspects of finance, compliance and regulatory reporting. Next Insurance is a well-funded startup based in Palo Alto, California with offices in Kfar Saba, Israel. Responsibilities:

Design and develop data systems and services to support various financial requirements.

Work closely with the finance team, product managers and other stakeholders to clearly define data requirements.

Define data models that best suit the requirements.

Work closely with R&D Engineers to define tracking and other data capturing.

Design and develop data processes.

Optimize and maintain data systems.

Acts as a focal point in relevant projects and domains

Work independently, while collaborating with multiple departments

Desired Skills and Experience:

At least three years of experience as a Data Engineer - must.

SQL at a mother-tongue language level - must (good technical knowledge of how things work under the hood).

Experience in heavily regulated data domains and/or with regulation/compliance reporting - advantage

Finance/accounting/legal/insurance background or relevant education - advantage

BI systems architecture and design - advantage

Experience in data quality assurance - advantage

Experience with technologies and tools including:
- Columnar, distributed databases: Preference for Redshift. Alternatively, Bigquery, Vertica, Snowflake, etc.
- Relational databases: Preference for MySQL. Alternatively, AWS-Aurora, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, etc.
- Programming skills: Preference for Python. Alternatively, java, C#, or other common OO language - advantage
- BI reporting tools: Preference for Tableau. Alternatively, Business-Objects, Cognos, Microstrategy, Power-BI, Sisense, Qlickview, Looker, etc - advantage

Relevant academic degree or equivalent experience

Excellent communication skills in English

Ability to accommodate meetings with our US offices on flexible hours.
