Product Manager, Policyholder Experience

We are hiring a Product Manager to help create a world class product experience for our existing customers, driving retention and word-of-mouth growth. This product manager will have complete ownership of the product our agent team and customers rely on every day to manage and change their policies. They will have broad participation across our product team and the opportunity to quickly take on new responsibilities as we grow. Our policyholder product team is redefining what people expect out of their insurance companies and helping Next become one of the world’s most loved companies in the process. Examples of product work in this area include: all facets of our customer portal and experience after purchase, supporting our agent team, claims handling, on-demand insurance dashboard, and disrupting the sleepy but very large insurance verification industry. We use a variety of technologies to support our product experience including machine learning and data science. Next Insurance is a well-funded startup with seasoned founders experiencing 4-5x annual growth. Our mission is to radically transform insurance for small businesses by combining world class technology and phenomenal customer service to offer better insurance at a lower price. Small business insurance is a $130 billion industry in the US, but more than 90% of small businesses purchase insurance offline through insurance agents, which can take several weeks. More than 30% of small businesses don’t have any insurance at all! We aim to transform the commercial insurance industry just like Uber and Airbnb transformed the taxi and hotel industries,. We’re changing a traditionally offline industry to be 100% online - no agents, no paperwork. We’re also working to make insurance accessible to every small business in America.


Define key customer metrics and measure success against goals

Lead customer research activities to figure out how we can keep our customers for life

Help us design and build products to capitalize on what we learn

Drive development on these products from idea to launch and iteration

Practice continuous improvement by rapidly testing and iterating on releases

Own the product roadmap for our customer service and policy administration tools

Help us build machine learning customer service and claims handling products

Build tools to increase the efficiency of our insurance agent team, while increasing customer happiness

Work cross-functionally with design, engineering, marketing, business intelligence, insurance operations, customer support, senior management, and external partners

Desired Skills and Experience:

2+ years of analytics, strategy or product management experience at a technology company or management consulting firm

Experience initiating and driving projects to completion with minimal guidance

Experience analyzing, interpreting, and leveraging data to make product decisions

Ability to communicate the results of analyses clearly and effectively

Excellent analytical and quantitative skills with extreme attention to detail

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Strong UI/UX skills, with the ability to recognize great design

Strong technical competency

BA/BS degree.

Preferred: Experience focused on driving retention and/or customer success
