How Much Does Painters Insurance Cost?

There are nearly as many different types of painters as there are shades of green, so no single policy is going to fit every painter. Each painting company insurance policy we offer is specific to you–the type of work you do and the amount of risk it carries, where you work, how many employees you have, and more.

Painter insurance costs and coverage can vary, even between businesses that look quite similar from the outside. Other than our affordable prices for your premiums, there are some other costs you should know that you won’t be paying for your painters insurance: you’ll pay a $0 deductible on all general liability insurance claims and you can always pay your premium monthly, rather than annually, for no extra cost. In addition, you will have access to our online customer portal where you can make claims, generate Live Certificates of insurance and more–all included with your policy.

Below you’ll find the details of what some of our painting customers pay for their insurance, but the best way to know what you would pay is to get a painting insurance quote just for you. What insurance does a painter need, and what does that painter insurance cost? We’ve got your answers.

How Much is General Liability Insurance for a Painter?

General liability insurance for painters is critical, as it can protect your business from certain types of losses. These can include:

– If someone other than you or one of your employees is injured

– If property gets damaged and your business is blamed for it

– Personal injury and slander, if you’re accused of saying or writing something about another person or business

General liability is sometimes referred to as “slip and fall” insurance, for people who have a physical place of business, but even for painters, it can cover cases where someone trips on your equipment, or even on a new coat of paint. It can cover legal expenses, medical costs, and more.

Most of our customers pay: $350-$521 annually, or between $29-$43 per month
Per occurrence limit: $300,000-$1 million, depending on your policy
Aggregate policy limit: $300,000-$2 million, depending on your policy
Deductible: $0

How Much is Painter Professional Liability/Errors and Omissions Insurance?

Professional liability insurance for painters is related to the projects you do and your role on those sites. It’s a much more specific type of coverage than general liability, including protecting you in cases where there are accusations that you may not have done your job properly, and that your work needs to be redone, or fixed. Painter professional liability insurance claims are usually much lower than general liability claims, which is why the coverage we offer has lower limits.

Professional liability painting insurance coverage is part of the Pro and Pro Plus plans we offer. It’s not available as a separate policy, but it is included within those plans.

Most of our customers pay: An additional 4-8% for this coverage, which is reflected in the total policy cost
Per occurrence limit: $0-$20,000, depending on your policy
Aggregate policy limit: $0-$50,000, depending on your policy
Deductible: $500
